Lawrence Zwick

Haines City, FL Lawrence Daniel Zwick, 69, personally known as Danny and professionally known as Larry, but mostly known as the high school sweetheart and husband of Carol J. (Smithausler) Zwick, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Tampa General Hospital in Tampa, Florida.
Paving the way for the generation of Baby Boomers, Dan was born on June 2, 1946 in Waterbury, CT, son of the late WW II Veteran Lawrence A. and Mary (Fitzgerald) Zwick. Having lived most of his life in Naugatuck and Thomaston, CT, he ultimately realized the dream of retirement in Florida, taking up residence in Haines City. Most folks know this was to keep close to his passion for baseball, spending the days of Spring Training following his rising baseball teams and attending many games, especially the Yankees. Long before it became cool to go to UCONN, Dan put himself through college at the University of Connecticut and earned his Bachelors degree. This proved very fruitful and satisfying since it led him to a lifelong career in the Bond Claim department in the insurance industry, artfully navigating the difficult pathway of settlement and negotiation. Reflecting on that, Dan’s career even outlasted the cascade of business changes and combinations from Aetna to St. Paul to Citibank, and ultimately Travelers Insurance, fortifying his integral stronghold as the solid foundation for that department for 40+ years. These actions throughout his years served as an example, a role model, for the family he created.
Dan is survived by his wife, Carol Zwick of Haines City, FL; his son, Mark Zwick of Thomaston, CT; his daughter, Tracey Boutot of Middlebury, CT; his grandchildren, Christian A. Boutot and Jared A. Boutot both of Middlebury, CT; his brother, Gerald Zwick and his wife Mimi Zwick of Thomaston, ME and several nieces and nephews.
