WATERBURY - Zenith A. Punter, 62, passed away in Barbuda, West Indies on January 31, 2012. She was the wife of Vincent Punter.
Mrs. Punter was born September 5, 1949 in Barbuda, the daughter of the late Joseph Jeffrey and Genevieve Thomas. She was educated at Holy Trinity School in Barbuda before moving to Antigua. She continued her education in Antigua at Point School as well as Princess Margaret Secondary School before finishing her education in Waterbury. She was a longtime Waterbury resident having previously lived in Canada. She worked at Southbury Training School for 21 years. She was known as a hard working mother. She loved gardening, shopping and traveling. She followed politics and loved President Obama.
Besides her husband of 38 years, Mrs. Punter is survived by her children Faye Thomas of Waterbury, Genevieve Jeffrey and her husband Neil of Oakville, Wesley Punter and his wife Rose of Waterbury, Devin Punter and his wife Monique of Naugatuck and Keisha Punter of Brooklyn, NY; her siblings St. Clair Harris, Loretta Harris, Eva May Askie, Lilrose Burton, Defratus DeSouza, Cynthia Beazer, and Norma Mason; her grandchildren Kaitlyn Scott, Aye jha Punter and Honesty Punter.
Arrangements - Funeral services will be held on Saturday February 18, 2012 at 10 a.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church, 16 Church St. Waterbury. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St., I-91 Tech Ctr.
