Naugatuck, CT Irene Yablonski, 94, the widow of Peter Yablonski, died peacefully on June 22, 2024 at Beacon Brook Health Center.

Irene was born June 5, 1930 in Great Barrington, MA a daughter of the late Stanley and Irene (Kotleski) Skrok. Irene lived in Naugatuck most of her life and she worked for many years at the footwear division of Uniroyal, Inc. First and foremost Irene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who loved spending time with her family. She loved her dogs, she was extremely patriotic and she enjoyed singing and dancing.

Irene is survived by her children, Diane Majdanski (Michael Majdanski), Karen Bragg (Kurt Bragg), Peter Yablonski, Jr. (Dawn Yablonski) and Michael Yablonski (Sarah Poynton Yablonski); her grandchildren, Brian Casini (Lori), Sean Casini (Crystal), Joseph Pierce (Katie), Michael Pierce (Kim), Desirae Bragg (Nick), Blayde Bragg (Julia), Erika Lanza (Justin), Jack Yablonski and Aaron Yablonski; her 13 great grandchildren; her sister, Ann Martinelli; her step grandchildren, Stephanie, Heather and Melissa and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and her parents, Irene was predeceased by her granddaughter, Michelle Yablonski; her brother, Stanley Skrok and her sisters, Teresa Smith and Frances Raspo.

Irene’s family would like to thank the staff at Beacon Brook Health Center for the compassionate care that they provided.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate the lives of Irene and Peter Yablonski will be Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at 11:00am at St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck, CT. All those attending the service are kindly asked to please meet directly at the cemetery. There are no calling hours and arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck.
