WALLINGFORD- William Patrick “Pat” Murphy Jr., 75, a long time Cheshire resident, passed away Friday, May 3, 2019 at the Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford.
Pat was born February 12, 1944 in Waterbury, son of the late William Patrick Sr. and Madeline Mary (Balentine) Murphy.
Mr. Murphy was a veteran proudly serving in the United States Army where he received a National Defense Service Medal, and a Good Conduct Medal. He served as a Cheshire Police Officer for five years and worked in the restaurant industry prior to his retirement.
Murph was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians (A.O.H) in Waterbury. He will be missed by the countless friends he made over the years, especially at but not limited to, The Community Restaurant (The Cave), The Manor Inn, Victorian House Restaurant, C.J Sparrows, and the Corner Café.
Pat is survived by his two daughters Kimberly and her husband Peter Zichichi and their children Peter Jr. and Jessica of Wallingford; and Brooke and her husband Joshua Miller of Steubenville, OH and their children David, Virginia, Nancy, Christopher, Joseph, and Evelyn; and his sister Sharon Kelly of Farmington.
Arrangements- Calling hours for Mr. Murphy will be held 5 to 8 P.M Thursday, May 9, 2019 at The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St, 06410. Pat’s funeral will be held 10:30 A.M, Friday May 10, 2019 at St. Bridget Church, 175 Main St, Cheshire, 06410. Friends are asked to meet directly at church. Burial with full military honors will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery. Donations in Mr. Murphy’s name can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS, 66675.
