Cheshire ' William F. Novi, 87, of Cheshire, passed away Saturday April 11, 2009 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. He was the husband of Kathleen T. (Mulligan) Novi.
Mr. Novi was born March 17, 1922 in Bronx, NY the son of the late William and Josephine (Raaba) Novi. Mr. was a WWII Army Veteran and attended both the University of Alabama and Hofstra University. He was a long time Cheshire resident where he was a communicant of St. Bridget Church. He was very active in his son's lives coaching them in baseball and football. He was a Design Engineer working for Anaconda Brass until his retirement in the mid 1980's.
Besides his wife of 62 years, Mr. Novi is survived by his sons William J. Novi and his wife Margaret of Wilmington, NC, Thomas M. Novi and his wife Laurie-Jean of Southington, John V. Novi and his wife Marion of Plymouth, and Kenneth A. Novi and his wife A. Deirdre of Wallingford; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Mr. Novi is predeceased by his son Christopher and his sister Mildred Wohlrab.
Arrangements ' Funeral services will be held on Wednesday April 15, 2009 9:15 a.m. from the Slater Funeral Home, 242 S. Main St., Cheshire to St. Bridget Church for Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
