William L Barker

Cheshire – William L. Barker, 87, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. He was the husband of Sally (Saja) Barker.

Mr. Barker was born December 22, 1930 in Bridgeport, a son of the late George and Alice (McGuire) Barker. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Barker was Director of Overhead Line for The United Illuminating Company.

In addition to his wife of 64 years, Mr. Barker is survived by his sons, David Barker and his wife, Jennifer, and Douglas Barker and his wife, Susan, his daughter, Doreen Balzano and her husband, Robert; his brother, John (Jack) Barker, and his sisters, Gertrude O’Connell and Alice Rowley. He will also be missed by his grandchildren, Brittany Fredrickson, Nicholas Balzano, Emily Barker and Ellee Barker; and his great grandchildren, Avery and Macie Fredrickson. He was predeceased by his brothers, George, Buddy, Richard, Raymond, and his sister Margaret.

Arrangements - A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at St. Bridget of Sweden Parish, St. Bridget Church, 175 Main St., Cheshire. Friends are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family and there are no calling hours. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire is assisting with arrangements.
