CHESHIRE- William Oliver Hendry, 84, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2015 at MidState Medical Center in Meriden following a long illness. He was the loving and devoted husband of Imogene (Withrow) Hendry, to whom he was married for 62 years.
He was born July 14, 1931 in Stanton, ND, son of the late Howard and Margaret (Dubbert) Hendry.
Mr. Hendry was a veteran, honorably serving in both the United States Army and Navy. He was a Superintendent for 41 years at Otis Elevator prior to his retirement. William was also an avid deer hunter and spent many memorable seasons in Montana with his good friends, Bill Bugh, Harold Hasenkrug and the Hasenkrug family.
Besides his wife, William is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Leone and her husband Lee Myers of WA and Megan Margaret Kingsley of Cheshire; two sons, Jason Oliver Hendry of Cheshire and Jonathan William Hendry of Cheshire; his brother Fred Hendry and his wife Marge of WA; two sisters, Margaret Hinshaw of HI and Lila Benson and her husband Art of WA; grandchildren Thea Louise Hendry, Daniel Joseph Kingsley, Kyla Fay (Kingsley) Voide and Ryan Stephen William Hendry; and his great granddaughter Sophia Elena Fayette Kingsley-Voide. He was predeceased by his son William Edgar Hendry; four brothers, Lewis, Howard, Wesley, and Gerald Hendry and his sister Carol.
Arrangements- A Private Service for Mr. Hendry will be held at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St, 06410. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family and there are no calling hours.
