William “Bill” Bormolini, age 92, of Livermore, CA and formerly of Southbury entered into eternal rest on Thursday February 16, 2017 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was the devoted husband of Susan (Johnson) Bormolini for over 42 years. Bill was born on April 29, 1924, in Waterbury, son of the late Joseph and Helen Bormolini and was a longtime resident of Naugatuck and Waterbury.
Bill loved to reminisce and talk with others about his tour of duty in the South Pacific during World War II while serving in the Army Air Corps. He graduated from the University of Bridgeport. His career was spent in production management, and in later years property management.
Mr. Bormolini was a 70 year member of Masonic Lodge Harmony 42 in Waterbury, where he served as Master. Bill used his time and talents to serve his church, most recently Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Livermore.
He is the beloved father of Stephen Bormolini and his wife, Diane of Watertown; Deborah Newsome and her husband, Curt of Prospect; Joan Christian and her husband, Scott of New Hampshire; and Heidi Lorenzen of Pleasanton, CA. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren Sarah Bormolini, Danelle Newsome, Amanda and Max Wu; and his great granddaughter Jocelyn Dumaine.
Friends are invited to a Memorial Service on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at 3PM in St. James Lutheran Church, 111 Peter Road, Southbury. A Private Committal Service and Inurnment will be held at the convenience of his family. At the request of Bill’s family, memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield MA 01104; St. James Lutheran Church, 111 Peter Road, Southbury, CT 06488; or a charity of choice. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck is assisting the family with his arrangements.
