NAUGATUCK – William “Bill” Waranowicz, 73, passed away Friday, March 6, 2020 at Hartford Hospital.
Bill was born August 17, 1946, in Waterbury, the son of the late Walter and Alice (Wahlstrom) Waranowicz. He was raised in Naugatuck where he graduated from Naugatuck High School, Class of 1964. He furthered his education at UCONN where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Airforce during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Hillside Covenant Church and had been a Master Mechanic for Chase Parkway Garage for over 38 years. He loved cooking, more so for others, as well as wine. He enjoyed the Finger Lakes and was known to look out for his neighbors. Most of all he loved his family.
Bill is survived by his siblings Bob Waranowicz and his wife Karen, Lynn Butler and her husband Rich, and Mark Waranowicz and his wife Pam; his nieces and nephews Nicholas Ugolik and his wife Melissa, Luke Ugolik and his wife Sarah, Dan and Cliff Shoemaker, Chris, Andrew and Meaghan Krenisky; and his great nieces and great nephews Barrett, Graham, Lena, Bowen, Maddy, Ben, Eilish, Charlotte, Alexander and Oliver.
Arrangements – Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 13, 2020 at 11 am at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday morning from 10 am until the start of the service.
