William "Bill" Ayers

William “Bill” Archer Ayers, age 78, lifelong resident of Cheshire CT passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury CT. Bill was born on June 23, 1943, in New Haven CT, son of the late Robert and Mary (Ward) Ayers.

Bill worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator and was a member of Local Union 478 Operating Engineers. He was a kind and generous man who enjoyed landscaping and working outdoors gardening and planting. Bill liked spending time with his family especially during the holidays.

Bill was a loving father to his two sons Justin W. Ayers of Guilford, CT, and Ryan Ayers of Waterbury, CT (daughter-in-law Erika Ayers). He is survived by his sister, Jane Lint of Cheshire, CT, and his three loving grandchildren, Elijah, Gavin, and Hayden.

Burial will be held privately by the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Connecticut Chapter 200 Executive Blvd, Suite 4B Southington, CT 06489. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire is assisting with his arrangements.
