CHESHIRE- Wilfred J. Lord Jr., 76, passed away Sunday, April 18, 2010 at his home. He was the loving husband of Sally W. Cope-Lord.

Wilfred was born April 3, 1934 in Waterbury and was the son of the late Wilfred J. Sr. and Mary Theresa (Collins) Lord.

Wilfred served in The United States Marine Corps during the Korean War, retired from the Connecticut National Guard as a Master Sergeant, served in the Second Company Governor's Foot Guard, and served as an auxiliary policeman in both Waterbury, and Meriden.

Wilfred attended Bryant College where he received a Bachelors Degree in Accounting. He worked at The Connecticut State Treasurer's Office where he was an Accounts Examiner prior to his retirement.

Wilfred was a member of Temple Lodge #16 A.F & A.M of Cheshire, Washington Lodge #81 A.F& A.M, The Blinded Veterans Association, and the 102nd Infantry Regiment Association.

Besides his loving wife Wilfred is survived by two sons, Brian Lord of Stockholm, NJ and Kenneth Lord of Naugatuck; three daughters Patricia Hendricks of Allen, TX, Carolyn Mercier of Southington, and Kellie Aloisi of Wolcott; a brother Edward Lord of Irmo, SC; his wife's children, three sons Robert Jr. and Stuart Cope of Littleton, CO, Stephen Cope of Philadelphia, PA and New York, NY, and a daughter Pamela Cope Schlegel of Marlborough, and eighteen grandchildren.

Arrangements- A Funeral Service for Wilfred will be held Friday, April 23, 2010 at The Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St, Cheshire, CT 06410 at 5 P.M Calling hours will be held from 3 to 5 P.M at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Donations in Wilfred's name may be made to Temple Lodge #16 of Cheshire, 9 Country Club Road, 06410, Masonic Hospice Palliative Care, 22 Masonic Ave, Wallingford, CT 06492, or
