Ann Whelpley
New Haven-Anne (Hornacek) Whelpley, 97, of 77 Mountain Rd, died on Friday, January 8, 2010 at Willow's of Woodbridge. She was the widow of Harold W. Whelpley.
Mrs. Whelpley was born on November 11, 1912 in New York City, NY a daughter of the late Stephen and Katherine (Benda) Hornacek. She was retired from Yale University Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library.
She is survived by a daughter, Ann DeCosta and her husband James, five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two sisters and one brother.
A private graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2010. There are no calling hours and the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 26 Waterbury Rd, Rte. 69, Prospect is in charge of the arrangements.
