Robert John "Bob" Ward
1937 - 2020

Naugatuck, CT Robert John “Bob” Ward, 82, of Naugatuck, passed away peacefully at home with his family and his dog Abby by his side, on June 28, 2020. Bob was born on September 9, 1937, the son of the late James & Margaret (Scally) Ward.

A lifetime resident of Naugatuck, Bob spent much of his time at Naugatuck Self Storage Center, a business he designed and built from the ground up. Bob had an unmatched work ethic to the end, and believed in running his business based on kindness, generosity, and honesty. Bob had many passions and interests in his lifetime, including being an avid boater and skier. He loved nothing more than spending time with family and close friends on his boat in Milford, CT. Whether it was cruising to Port Jefferson and Block Island or just a short trip around Long Island Sound, he loved showing everyone a fun time. He also enjoyed many years on the slopes; from teaching skiing in his younger days to later becoming a ski Ambassador at Mt. Snow in Vermont.

Bob leaves behind his beloved wife Carol (Boccacino) Ward; his daughter Tracy Ward and her boyfriend, Thomas Pinciaro; his daughter Kimberly (Ward) Kennedy and her husband, Stephen Kennedy, and his two precious granddaughters, Emma and Ally. He also leaves behind his only sibling, his brother Thomas Ward and his wife, Julie of Annapolis, MD.

Bob will be incredibly missed by his family and will be remembered always for his generosity and eagerness to help in any way that he could.

Services will be private and have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. Bob’s family requests that any memorial donations be made to your favorite animal rescue in Bob’s honor.
