Wanda Ploski

PROSPECT - Wanda N Ploski (Niestemski), 98, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at VITAS Hospice at St Mary’s Hospital Waterbury.

Wanda was born in Naugatuck to Zygmundt and Florence (Ploski) Niestemski on January 11, 1918. She attended Naugatuck public schools graduating from Naugatuck High in 1936. She married Adolph (aka ‘Murph’) her husband of 64 years August 31, 1940. Prior to her marriage she worked at US Rubber Naugatuck Footware Division for several years. Wanda reentered the workforce in the early 1960’s first as the kindergarten teacher and then as school secretary at St Hedwig School for over 40 years.

Wanda is survived by her children Gregory and his wife Linda, Donna and her husband Donald Anderson, and Kevin all of Prospect. Her sister Theda and her husband Salvatore Bosco of Woodbury. Her grandchildren Jeffrey and wife Kathy of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Keith Pinto and wife Shelly and their son Malakai of Prospect and Gary Ploski and wife Ali Berman of Portland, OR and several nephews and nieces. Wanda is preceded in death by her husband Adolph and her brother Alphonse Niestemski and his wife Victoria of Oxford.

Arrangements - Family and friends will gather at St Anthony Church, 4 Union City Rd, Prospect on Tuesday December 20, 2016 at 10 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial with the Rev Grzegorz Jaworowski officiating. Friends are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family and there are no calling hours. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Homes of Naugatuck is assisting with arrangements.
