Walter Waranowicz

NAUGATUCK – Walter Waranowicz, 96, passed away Friday at VITAS Healthcare at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was the husband of the late Alice Waranowicz.

Mr. Waranowicz was born November 7, 1922, in Naugatuck the son of the late Michael and Stella (Ostapiec) Waranowicz. He was a longtime employee of Uniroyal Footwear, retiring after 39 years. He was also employed by Delson Hinge in Wolcott.

Mr. Waranowicz is survived by his children Bill Waranowicz, Bob Waranowicz and his wife Karen, Lynn Butler and her husband Rich, and Mark Waranowicz and his wife Pam; his grandchildren Nicholas Ugolik and his wife Melissa, Luke Ugolik and his wife Sarah, Dan and Cliff Shoemaker, Chris, Andrew and Meaghan Krenisky; his great grandchildren Barrett, Graham, Bowen, Maddy, Ben, Alish, Charlotte, Alexander and Oliver. In addition to his parents and his wife Mr. Waranowicz is predeceased by his brother Joseph and his sisters Jane and Helen.

Arrangements – Funeral services will be held on Tuesday July 9, 2019 at 11 am at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. Burial will be follow in Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday morning from 10 until the start of the service.
