MIDDLEBURY- Mr. Waldo W. “Robby” Robison, 86, of Middlebury, passed away Saturday morning July 2, 2016 at his home. He was the husband of Jean (Raeburn) Robison.

Mr. Robison was born in Richmond, VA, Feb. 26, 1930 a son of the late Waldo G. and Edith (Benson) (Robison) Norton and step-son of the late Burton V. Norton and was educated in the Waterbury school system. He was a graduate of Wilby High School, Class of 1949, and was a graduate of the Dale Carnegie School, the New York State Bankers Association of Consumer Credit Management at West Point, and the Columbia School for Executive Management.

Mr. Robison was well known in the greater Waterbury area, having served in a variety of management positions in the Banking industry for over 40 years. He had formerly served as an Assistant Manager at Household Finance, was a Regional Vice President for the Waterbury National Bank, a Senior Vice President for Mattatuck Bank, a Senior Vice President of the Bank of Waterbury, a Senior Vice President at Security Savings and Loan and retired in 1992 as Vice President with North American Bank.

He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the U.S. Army. 205th Signal Corp and was the recipient of Korean Service Medal with 5 Bronze Stars, The Army Occupation Medal of Japan with 2 Silver Bars. He was also a member and Past Master of Liberty-Continental Lodge # 76, A. F. & A. M. of Waterbury, and a member of the Middlebury Congregational Church. He was a former member of the Board of Directors and past Chairman of the Pine Grove Cemetery Assoc., a former Board member of the Salvation Army, Junior Achievement, and the Neighborhood Housing Services. He had also been active with the Sales and Marketing Executives of Northwest, CT, the Greater Waterbury Chamber of Commerce, the Lions Club and had served as Chapter President of the American Institute of Banking. He had also been Treasurer of the Lt. Westberg Scholarship Fund, a member of the Middlebury Republican Town Committee, had served as Chairman of the American Cancer Crusade, and was a former board member of Big Brothers/Big Sisters Advisory Board of the YMCA. He was an avid skier and fly fisherman.

Besides his wife of 64 years, Jean, he leaves two sons, Mark W. Robison and his wife Diane of Oakville, and Matthew R. Robison and his wife Nancy of Middlebury; one daughter, Laurie Gadzik and her husband David of Middlebury; one brother Paul Robison of Ventnor, N.J. and one sister Patricia Robison of Shelton; 7 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday July 7th, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Middlebury Congregational Church, 1242 Middlebury Rd. Middlebury 06762. Military funeral honors will be accorded at the church following the service. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Waterbury at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. on Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.. Members of Liberty –Continental Lodge will conduct a Masonic Service at the funeral home on Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Harold Leever Regional Cancer Center, 1075 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, 06708.
