Josephine Wailonis

Naugatuck, CT Josephine “Mary” (Belletti) Wailonis, 102, the widow of Joseph E. Wailonis, died peacefully on July 15, 2018.

Josephine was born on April 4, 1916 the daughter of the late Peter J. and Katherine (Slowik) Belletti and had lived in Naugatuck for most of her life. She retired from the chemical division of Uniroyal, Inc. where she had worked for 43 years. She was a former member of the Naugatuck Council of Catholic Women, the Daughters of Isabella, the Benedictine Oblates of St. Procopius, the Professed Carmelite, 3rd Order and the V.F.W. Crusader Post 1946 Auxiliary.

Josephine is survived by her loving nieces and nephews and in addition to her husband and her parents; she was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph and Edmund Belletti.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 10:00am at St. Vincent Ferrer Church, 1006 New Haven Road, Naugatuck. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. Family and friends may call Tuesday from 8:00am to 9:00am at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck.
