Lynn Vergnetti

Meriden, CT Lynn (Matos) Vergnetti of Meriden, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 20, 2024 at VITAS at St. Mary’s Hospital after a long illness.

Lynn was born on July 25, 1956 to the late William and Marieta Matos of Naugatuck. Lynn graduated from Naugatuck High School and worked at Hunter’s Ambulance prior to her illness.

In her younger years she loved to square dance with her friends and was a member of many Square Dancing Clubs. Lynn and her daughter Sara shared a passion for Poodles and traveled to shows including Westminster Kennel Club, Saratoga Kennel Club and many more. She took care of many fur babies and of course her feathered friend Chuka. Even during her illness Lynn always had her yarn nearby and was always crocheting.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter, Sara Vergnetti; her sister, Karen Boccuzzi and her husband Nicholas Jr.; her brother, Paul Matos and his wife Irene; her nieces and nephews, Erica Boccuzzi, Nicholas Boccuzzi III, Danielle Streifel and her husband James and Alex Ryley Matos; her uncle, Manuel Matos as well as many cousins, extended family members and friends.

Lynn was predeceased by her parents William and Marieta Matos, her brother, Mark Matos, her infant nephews, Kyle Boccuzzi and Brett Boccuzzi; her grandparents and several aunts and uncles.

We would like to send a special thank you to the staff at Village Green of Bristol for their many years of care and compassion for Lynn during her illness. Also a special thank you to Chaplin Michael Lynn for his kindness and grace in the time spent with Lynn.
