BETHANY — Mrs. Heather A. (Dillon) Verab, 46, died Wednesday, May 19, 2010, at Yale-New Haven Hospital {Smilow} surrounded by her loving family after a long period of medical challenges. She was the beloved wife of William J. Verab.
Mrs. Verab was born in New Haven on Jan. 27, 1964, a daughter of Rosemary (Colwell) Dillon of Guilford and the late Leo G. Dillon. She was a 1982 graduate of Guilford High School, worked at the Verab greenhouses in Bethany, and was a member of the First Church of Christ Congregational in Bethany.
Besides her husband, and her mother, Mrs. Verab is survived by a daughter, Bridget Verab of Bethany; a son, William "Billy" Verab of Bethany; a brother, Mark Dillon of Branford; her mother-in-law, June (Szirbik) Verab of Bethany; her grandmother, Aletha Mitchell of Dover, N.H.; and seven nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, John Dillon, and a sister, Nancy Dillon.
The funeral will be held 9:15 a.m. Saturday, May 22, 2010, from the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 26 Waterbury Road, Route 69, Prospect, to First Church of Christ Congregational, 511 Amity Road, Bethany, for services at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park, Hamden, on Monday, May 24, 2010, at 2 p.m. Friends may call today at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m.
