Vera Pawloski

Waterbury ' Vera L. (DuBois) Pawloski, 94, of Waterbury, passed away Friday August 28, 2009 at Abbott Terrace in Waterbury. She was the wife of the late Leo M. Pawloski.

Mrs. Pawloski was born January 22, 1915 in Rosendale, NY the daughter of the late Oblenis and Mary Jane (McLaughlin) DuBois. She was a longtime Waterbury resident and graduated from Crosby High School where she was the Captain of the Varsity Basketball team. She worked at Howland Hughes in Waterbury for over 40 years until her retirement in 1972. She was an avid Yankee fan who loved cats.

Mrs. Pawloski is survived by her sons Lee M. Pawloski of Wallingford, Richard J. Pawloski of Waterbury, Michael W. Pawloski of Oakville and William I. Pawloski of Sarasota, FL; her daughters Dona J. Ginty of Sarasota, FL and Sandra Boucher of Waterbury; 14 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren. She is pre-deceased by her grandson Robert Boucher and her brother Ira DuBois.

Arrangements ' Funeral services will be held on Tuesday September 1, 2009 at 5:30 p.m. at the Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held Tuesday afternoon from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Connecticut Humane Society 701 Russell Road, Newington, CT 06111.
