Southington – Venice Tsimonis passed to her reward on May 28, 2016, at the age of 92. Born in Waterbury on February 22, 1924 to John and Stamatia (Vlisides) Tsimonis, Venice resided in Waterbury until her retirement in 1987 from Sealy Mattress Company in Oakville, Ct. She divided her time between the family in Waterbury, and the warmth of Florida. Venice’s later years brought her to The Orchards at Southington, an assisted living facility in Southington, Ct. Requiring more assistance, Venice moved to the Southington Care Center, where she was cared for until her death.
Venice dedicated her life to God in 1946, and was an active participant with the Waterbury Bible Students. Venice continued to grow spiritually, attending ecclesia studies and local and out-of-state conventions. Venice looked forward to the fulfilment of Jesus’ prayer, “Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven”. She was excited to make several trips to Israel, Egypt, Turkey and Greece, to visit cities and sites related to her Bible studies.
She is survived by her brother-in-law, Paul Balko, sister-in-law, Harriet Tsimonis, nephews; John (Judy) Constance, Peter (Pat) Constance, nieces; Lydia (Robert) Davis, Vicki (Gary) Griffin, Priscilla (Paul) Jezuit, and nephew-in-law, John Ashley, as well as many great nieces and nephews and great-grand nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother; Anthony (Tony), her sisters; Stella (Bill) Constance, Anna Tsimonis, and Esther Balko, and niece Paula Ashley, one great nephew and two great-grand nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Southington Care Center and Franciscan Hospice Care, for their compassion and loving service.
