Valerie (Swenor) (McCann) Dixon

DELAND, FL – Mrs. Valerie (Swenor) (McCann) Dixon, 67, of Deland, FL, wife of the late Chuck Dixon and daughter of Katie and Albert Fleck of Naugatuck and the late Theron Swenor, passed away May 1, 2024 in Deland, FL. 

 Valerie was born in Middlebury, VT on May 27, 1956 and attended schools in Naugatuck, CT. Besides her parents of Naugatuck, she leaves a son, Terry McCann of Deland, 5 sisters, Twyla Hanna with whom she made her home; Thawn Swenor of Waterbury; Jamie Swenor and Darice (Bill) Morrissey of Naugatuck; and Darcie (Danny) Martineau of Warren; 2 brothers, Wes Swenor of Naugatuck and Skeeter (Kelly) Swenor of Brookfield. She also leaves several grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.  The family would like to thank her primary caregiver, Twyla Hanna for all the love and care given to Val in her final days.   Besides her father and husband, Valerie was predeceased by her son, Jason McCann and 2 sisters, Tia Fleck and Deanna Kollar.
