WATERBURY- Mr. V. Roland Sica, Jr., of Waterbury, passed away Friday evening Jan. 3, 2014, at his home. He was the husband of Carmela (Patricelli) Sica.
Mr. Sica was born in Waterbury, a son of the late V. Roland Sica, Sr. and the late Esterina (Robustelli) Sica, and was a lifelong city resident. He was educated in the local school system and was President of Modern Printing following in the families footsteps beginning at the age of 15, and continuing his entire life. He was a devoted husband, father, and uncle, who was honest and sincere to his many friends and business associates throughout his long career. He was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Church and was honorably discharged from the Army reserves during WW II. He enjoyed music and playing the organ, and had been a member of the Jaycee's years ago.
Besides his wife of 50 years, he leaves his children, Vincent R. Sica, his wife Bonnie and their children, Steven and Kayla, Ernest L. Sica, his wife Jennifer and their children, Olivia, and Julia, and his daughter Esther J. Sica; one sister, Helen Patricelli of Southington and a very special niece, Elena Albini and her husband Carlo and their children, Carla, Maria, and Nicole. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Lucia, Mary, Ida, Mike, and Michael Sica.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday Jan. 7, 2014, at 9:15 am from the Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave. and proceed to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 309 South Main St. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, 2324 East Main St., Waterbury. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday Jan. 6, 2014, from 5 to 7 pm.
