Thomas N. McDonald Jr.

Thomas N. McDonald Jr., age 74, of Naugatuck and formerly of Waterbury, entered into rest on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at his home with his loving wife by his side. He was the devoted husband of Cheryl (Dakai) McDonald. Thomas was born on April 6, 1950 in Waterbury, son of the late Thomas and Catherine (Donahue) McDonald Sr.

 Thomas was a longtime resident of Waterbury before coming to Naugatuck in 2007. He and Cheryl were married April 1, 1978, sharing over 46 years of marriage together; taking many trips to Maine, enjoying the simple things in life and loving grandparenthood. Thomas worked as a tractor trailer driver for over 40 years for Bozzuto’s, Murphy Transportation and various other companies.

 He is the beloved father of John McDonald and his wife, Sara of New Haven; Jeffery McDonald of NC; and Christopher McDonald and his wife, Amanda of CA. Thomas also leaves his cherished grandchildren, Harlan, Scarlet, Kaia and Max; his siblings, Cathleen McDonald of ME; Edward McDonald and his wife, Mary of Southbury; and James McDonald of Waterbury;his former sister-in-law, Denise McDonald; and several loving nieces and nephews. Thomas was predeceased by his siblings, Timothy McDonald and Ann Ellis.
