NAUGATUCK- Mr. Thomas J. Mariano, 60, of Naugatuck, passed away on Thursday morning August 4, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital.
Mr. Mariano was born in Waterbury, Aug. 10, 1950, a son of the late William F. and Albina (Chadarcewicz) Mariano and was a Naugatuck resident for over 35 years. He was employed by Student Transportation of America as Safety Director at their Danbury office, having been formerly at their Naugatuck facility for many years. He was recently elected to serve on the Borough Zoning Commission.
He leaves a son, Thomas J. Mariano, II of Sharon; two brothers, William F. Mariano of Beacon Falls, and David V. Mariano and his wife Donna of Prospect; a niece, Ashley Mariano and a nephew, David Mariano both of Prospect.
His funeral will be held on Monday Aug. 8, 2011 at 9:15 am from the Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. and proceed to St. Francis of Assisi Church 318 Church St. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday Aug. 7, 2011 from 5 to 8 pm. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis School Foundation, P.O. Box 292, Naugatuck, 06770-0292.
