Theresa Smith

CHESHIRE- Theresa E. Smith, 89, passed away Monday September 23, 2013 peacefully at The Highlands Health Care Center. She was predeceased by her husband Arthur T. Smith.

She was born November 2, 1923, daughter of the late James and Theresa E. (Schieffer) Salvatore.

Theresa 'Sissy' was employed at Allied Controls / Skillpac where she worked as a packer prior to her retirement. She enjoyed watching and feeding her birds and ducks and was an avid gardener. She loved reminiscing about her early years and youth growing up on her grandparent's Schieffer Farm on Marion Road in Cheshire.

Theresa's family would like to thank the staff of The Highlands Health Care Center, and Vitas Innovative Health Care for the compassion and love they showed her during her long stay.

She is survived by a son George and his wife Diane Smith of Cheshire; two daughters Darlene "Dee" Smith of Cheshire, and Holly Smith of Southington; two grandchildren Christopher A. Smith of Greenfield, IN, and Lisa her husband Michael Rossoni of Hope Valley, RI; and two great grandchildren Tessa and Brandon Rossoni. She is survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and a special neighbor Barbara Welton. Theresa was predeceased by a brother Joseph Salvatore and a sister Mary Dziedzic.

Arrangements- Theresa's funeral will be held 10 A.M Saturday September 28, 2013 at The Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St, 06410. Burial will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 9 A.M until the start of the service.
