"Loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother"

Theresa (Atterratto) Lucia passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday January 17, 2022. She was the loving, devoted wife of the late Domenic Lucia. Mrs. Lucia was born on October 24, 1921 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Berardi) Atterrato.

Theresa enjoyed always being with her family, cooking and baking for them.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Phelan and her husband, John of Plantsville; her grandson, John Phelan III and his wife, Sandy of Southington; her granddaughter, Laura Phelan of West Hartford; her two great grandchildren, Mary Tolisano and Cara Phelan both of Southington; her sister, Jane Tammaro of Wolcott; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brother, Gaetano Atterrato and her sisters, Dolores DiOrio, Marie Johnson and Edith Sica.

Arrangements – Friends may greet Theresa’s family at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 So. Main Street, Cheshire, CT 06410 on Monday, January 24, 2022 from 8:30AM until 9:30AM. At 9:30AM her funeral procession will leave the funeral home for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10AM in St. Bridget of Sweden Parish-St. Bridget Church, 175 Main Street, Cheshire. Burial will follow at Cheshire Hillside Cemetery, Wallingford Road, Cheshire. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
