NAUGATUCK- Mrs. Thelma (Andersen) Kaufman, 83, of Naugatuck, passed away Sunday afternoon Oct. 30, 2011 at her home. She was the widow of Kenneth Kaufman
Mrs. Kaufman was born in Waterbury, May 10, 1928, a daughter of the late Charles and Thelma (Smith) Andersen and had worked at the Lewis Engineering Co. for over 46 years, and then worked for Anco Tool and Mfg. Co. of Watertown for 7 years, retiring at the age of 80 after 53 years of continuous employment. She loved animals especially, dogs and enjoyed both the men and the woman's UCONN Basketball teams
She leaves two nephews, N. Warren Hess, III of Naugatuck, and Robert Henry of Sanford , ME. and a niece, Joann Henry of Sanford, ME., and several grand nieces and grand nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Patricia Hess and Barbara Henry.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Flora's Pet Project, 38 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck, 06770-4033
