Tammy (O’Day) McFadden, 65 of Wolcott passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer and is now reunited with her beloved son R.J. in heaven. She was the wife of Ronald J. McFadden.
Tammy was born September 26, 1957 in Waterbury a daughter of the late Thomas and Carolyn (Dulin) O’Day. She was employed by P&M Typesetting, General Data Com and Westchester Book retiring after many years of service. Tammy was a devoted mother and grandmother who never missed a sporting or scholastic event, from Wolcott Football to cheerleading to UCONN Ultimate Frisbie. Tammy was also a member of the Elks Club. She loved family vacations to Lake George and Saratoga, Wildwood, Ireland, Surfside Beach, S.C, New Hampshire, and most recently spending time with family and friends at McBegs lake house. Tammy enjoyed Saturday night card games with her mother, sister, and husbands, celebrating St. Patrick’s Day, tanning on the beach, Saturday night bonfires, karaoke in the garage with the “Wolcott boys”, day trips to NYC and Boston, camping trips with Kevin and Christa, and especially doing laundry and shopping. She also enjoyed traveling to different states to watch her nephew, Joey, coach college football as well as going to Army football games. Tammy’s true love was spending time with her grandchildren playing board games, going to different parks and museums, and waking up Christmas morning with them.
Besides her loving husband Ron she leaves her daughter Tracy Rubin, her grandsons Cole, Chase, and Caden, who she lovingly referred to as “the boys”, and their grandparents Sheryl and Lane Rubin, her sister and best friend Terry Begnal and her husband Joe, her niece and caregiver Breanna Medina and her husband Eric, her nephew Joey Begnal, her great niece and nephew, Teagan and Aidan Medina, her brother and sister-in-law Kevin and Christa McFadden and their sons Conor, Seth, Mathew and Patrick, her sister-in-law Kathy Moher, her niece Kristine Fusco and her children Colby and Mariah and many close aunts, uncles, and cousins. In addition to her son R.J. and her parents, Tammy was predeceased by her sister Tracy O’Day, her nephew US Army Captain Anthony Fusco, her brother-in-law Billy Moher, her mother-in-law Elaine Zonas and her husband George.
