Christopher Taggart

Naugatuck, CT Christopher L. Taggart, Sr. 76, husband of Abbie G. (Adams) Taggart died January 13, 2024 at his home.

Chris was born April 3, 1947 in Bangor, ME a son of the late Herbert E. Taggart, Sr. and Elaine R. (Crossman) Taggart and was a self-employed truck driver for many years. Chris was a United States Navy Vietnam War Veteran and was a life time member of the VFW, Crusader Post 1946 in Naugatuck.


In addition to his wife Abbie, Chris is survived by his son, Christopher L. Taggart, Jr. of Naugatuck, CT; his sister, Linda Hazelton of Milo, ME; his brothers, Herbert E. Taggart, Jr. and Chipper Taggart both of Levant, ME. He will also be remembered by his many nieces and nephews.


Family and friends will gather to honor and celebrate Christopher’s life on Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 10:00am to 11:00am at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. A graveside service with Military Honors will immediately follow at St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck, CT. Members of the Naugatuck Veterans Council will assemble at the funeral home, Saturday at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers and to honor Christopher’s memory, donations are requested to VFW Crusader Post 1946, P.O. Box 85, Naugatuck, CT 06770.
