Suszan D. Brouillard

Suszan D. “Sue” (Martinelli) Brouillard, age 67, of Wolcott entered into rest on Saturday, September 18, 2021. She was surrounded by her loving family after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Sue was a devoted wife of Robert Brouillard, with whom she shared over 28 wonderful years. Suszan was born on July 23, 1954 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Donald and Jean (Bottachiari) Martinelli.

Sue was the owner of “Puttin’ On The Dog” in Wolcott and was a well-known dog groomer for over 45 years. She was an excellent cook, was a talented knitter, fond of classic comedy movies, and enjoyed playing in setback tournaments. Sue loved animals and would adopt whatever Bobby would let her bring home. They both enjoyed time at home with their horses and Sunday motorcycle rides. She will be remembered for the strength and compassion she had for all God’s creatures.

In addition to her husband, Robert, Sue is survived by her brother, Thomas O. Martinelli of Waterbury; her mother-in-law, Jacqueline Slogeris of Plantsville; and her sisters-in-law, Janice (Geoffrey) Young of Plantsville and Jeanna (Brian) Knapp of Hudson, NH. She is also the proud aunt of Brianna (Kyle) Precourt, Cody Knapp, and C.J. (Michelle) Colapietro; and leaves her cherished great-niece, Camryn Colapietro; several loving cousins and many faithful patrons and friends.

There will be a Mass held to celebrate Sue’s life on Friday, September 24, 2021 at 11AM at St. Bridget of Sweden Parish-St. Bridget Church, 175 Main Street, Cheshire, CT 06410. Burial will be private and at the convenience of her family. Memorial contributions may be made to the ASPCA, at www.aspca.org.
