Steven Stopper Jr

Naugatuck, CT Steven Louis Stopper, Jr., 37, husband of Danielle (Morissette) Stopper, died July 12, 2023 at Hartford Hospital.

Steven was born February 21, 1986 in Waterbury, CT. He graduated from Naugatuck High School and received his Associates Degree in Business Management from Naugatuck Valley Community College. For the past 6 years, Steven worked as an automotive mechanic at Sullivan’s Northwest Hills in Torrington.

Steven was a motorcycle enthusiast and proud member of the OTHG, where he was named “wrench”. He loved riding his motorcycles, dirt bikes, being with family and friends, building things and the outdoors. Steven was the most amazing husband and father and he was extremely proud of his family.

In addition to Danielle, his loving wife of 9 years, Steven is survived by his son, Ryker Stopper; his father, Steve Stopper, Sr. and Jill; his mother and stepfather, Lorie and Steve Westall; his father and mother in law, Paul and Jeannine Morissette; his sister and brother in law, Corinne and Scot Crosswait; his nieces, Callie and Hailie Crosswait and several aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family. Steven was predeceased by his grandparents, Ralph and Helen Stopper, Sr. and James and Ellen “Kicky” Chapman.

Calling hours will be Friday, July 21, 2023 from 4-7pm at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 10:00am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church Street, Naugatuck.
