Avon – Stephen W. Faraclas, 64, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2019, at his home in Avon, CT. He was the husband of Barbara (Bonnie) Faraclas.
Steve was the son of Marian (Scimone) Faraclas and the late William Faraclas. A native of Bristol, CT, he graduated from Bryant University and was a retired Auditor for The Hartford Financial Services Group. He was passionate about his work and a patent holder for fraud-detection software.
Steve will always be remembered for his mischievous smile, infectious laugh and self-described corny sense of humor. Steve loved sports and was a lifelong athlete. He was an avid golfer and had a passion for martial arts. He was also a huge sports fan who especially enjoyed watching UConn basketball and the New York Mets. Steve was also a creative person with a deep appreciation for the visual arts. He expressed his creativity through his passion for painting, both oil and watercolor.
In addition to his wife and mother, Steve is survived by his brother, Sam Faraclas (Lisa), his sisters, Cathy Weber (John), Daphne Deuel (Dave II) and Andrea Flanders (Carl); his nieces and nephews, Dave Deuel III (Audrey), Ali Deuel (John), Olivia Weber Schwalbach (Taylor), Jack Weber, Isabel Weber, Bill Weber, Emily Faraclas, Sophia Flanders and Sam Flanders; Bonnie’s sons Jeffrey Aber and Glen Aber; Bonnie’s grandchildren Kyle Aber and Kaity Aber, and many loving uncles, aunts and cousins.
Steve was great company and always fun to be around. He will be missed by all that knew him. He was especially adored by his nieces and nephews, who all cherished his loving spirit and good humor.
Arrangements: There will be no calling hours. Services for Steve will be private and at the convenience of his family.
