CHESHIRE- Stanley Charles Koppel, 80, passed away, Wednesday, March 11, 2020, at MidState Medical Center. He was the loving husband of Linda (Kuraczea) Koppel whom he was married to for almost 48 years.
Mr. Koppel was born October 14, 1939, in Jersey City, NJ, son of the late Stanley and Mildred (Hynes) Koppel.
Stanley was an amazing man who loved his family fiercely. He survived a stroke over 40 years ago and was grateful for everyday he was here on earth to be able to watch his family grow. He was a veteran who proudly served in the Army National Guard. He was also an avid train enthusiast who volunteered in the train room at Masonicare Health Center for the last 17 years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children Melinda and her husband Jeff Wamester of Burbank, CA, Shauna and her husband Jeff Weinhold of Falls Church, VA, and Thomas and his wife Jessica Koppel of Keller, TX; and his four grandchildren Liam Wamester, Lucas Weinhold, and Olivia and Nathan Koppel.
A calling hour will be held 10 A.M to 11:00 A.M, Monday, March 16, 2020, at The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St, 06410. A service will be held at 11:00 A.M to conclude calling hours. A private graveside service will be held in Cheshire Hillside Cemetery. Donations in Stanley’s name can be made to Hartford HealthCare Mid-State Medical Center or Hartford HealthCare Hospice Care who treated Stanley with the utmost care during his stay there.
