Naugatuck, CT Kenneth Sprague, 82, husband of the late Sharon Sprague, who was his loving wife of 56 years, died peacefully at his home on September 27, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.

Ken was born on December 30, 1941 in Sandy Hook, CT a son of the late Jesse and Yvette Sprague. Ken was raised in Middlebury, CT and he worked as a carpenter for the CT Carpenters Union Local 24.

In his younger years, Ken enjoyed his horses, riding in several rodeos. Ken met Sharon at Rosehurst Stables in Middlebury, CT. Ken also enjoyed boating in Stonington, CT and traveling across country with Sharon in their RV. He loved his scratch tickets and trips to Mohegan Sun, always feeling lucky. He enjoyed his dogs, J.R., Minnie, Cooper and Bella and he loved visiting with his great grandchildren.

Ken is survived by his daughters, Kimberly San Angelo and husband Andrew of Naugatuck, CT, and Kristin Sprague-Malpee and husband Simeon of Tennessee; his grandchildren, Matthew San Angelo and wife Miranda of Naugatuck, CT, Alyssa San Angelo of Smyrna, GA, Tara Gannon of Watertown, CT, Jen Henegan and husband Colin of West Hartford, CT, and great grandchildren, Teagan, Bryn, Hudson, Riley, a great granddaughter arriving in December and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and his parents, Kenneth was predeceased by his sons, David and Kenneth; his brothers, Jesse, Roland and Donald; his sisters, Loretta and Jane.

Ken’s family would like to sincerely thank the VITAS Hospice Home Care team for the excellent care they provided to Ken and his family.

A private graveside service will be held at St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck, CT. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Kenneth’s memory to Naugatuck Animal Control, 508 Cherry Street, Naugatuck, CT 06770. There are no calling hours and arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck.
