Skylar Rose Ardito, age 17, entered into rest on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at MidState Medical Center in Meriden. Skylar was born on April 25, 1998 in New Haven, she was the cherished daughter of Carrie (Scarpa) Ford and James Ardito; best friend and sister of MacKenzie Ardito and admired big sister of Beau Ford.
She was an outgoing young woman, a devoted guitar player and a lover of music. Skylar was a longstanding member of the Wallingford Girls’ Softball League, and attended Cheshire High School (Class of 2016), she was eager to attend college and earn her degree to become a psychologist. Skylar’s legacy will continue, as she chose to help others and give a final gift of love through tissue donation.
In addition to her mother, Carrie Ford of Cheshire; her father, James Ardito of Hamden; and siblings MacKenzie Ardito and Beau Ford of Cheshire; she is survived by her step father, Thomas C. Ford of Cheshire; her paternal grandparents, Daniel and Linda Ardito of Hamden; step grandfather, Thomas E. Ford of Cheshire; great grandmother, Anne Scarpa of Wallingford; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and countless dear friends. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Donna and John Scarpa.
A candlelight vigil will be held on Friday, August 14, 2015 at 8PM at Bartlem Park, across from Cheshire High School. Friends may greet Skylar’s family at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 So. Main Street, Cheshire, CT 06410 on Monday, August 17, 2015 from 4PM until 7PM. Interment will be private and at the convenience of her family.
