"Family Man"
Naugatuck- Roger Simoes, 64, husband of Rosa Maria (Conceicao) Simoes of 10 Brittany Lane, passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Yale New Haven Hospital surrounded by his loving family after a long illness.
Mr. Simoes was born on May 2, 1946 in Murtosa, Portugal son of the late Agostinho and Maria da Purificacao Simoes. He was a retired employee of Tilcon Construction Company. He also worked for Innes Brothers of Thomaston and Uniroyal, Inc. He was a member of the CT Laborers Union; he enjoyed fishing, gardening, and raising his canneries and also spending time with his grandchildren and family.
Besides his wife of Naugatuck he is survived by one son, Roger C. Simoes and his wife Ana, one daughter, Linda Cocchiola and her husband Michael Jr, two sisters, Maria Vieira and her husband Joaquim and Maria P. daSilva and her husband Julio, four grandchildren, Michael, David, Justin and Anissa all of Naugatuck, a niece Helena Vieira of Pawcatuck, one nephew Jack Vieira of Wolcott. He also leaves to cherish his memory a sister-in-law,Ilda Carreira, and her husband Albano; a brother-in-law, Americo Conceicao,and his wife, Maria; a brother-in-law, Manuel Armindo Conceicao, in Canada; and a sister-in-law,Lisa Conceicao,in Brazil.

Also left to cherish his memory are several nieces and nephews in Canada and Brazil, cousins and many friends.

The funeral will be held on Monday, July 12, 2010 at 9:30 am from the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave, Naugatuck to Our Lady of Fatima Church in Waterbury for a mass at 10:00 am. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 5-8 pm.
