Shirley K. Murray, age 92, of Cheshire entered into rest on Friday, January 19, 2018. She was the devoted wife of William “Bill” Murray for over 55 years. Shirley was born on February 25, 1925 in New Haven, daughter of the late Harry and Dorothea (Miller) Kelsey.
Shirley graduated from Hamden High School and later worked as a payroll administrator for SNET, where she met her husband, Bill, and was also a library assistant at Doolittle School. Shirley was known for her creative side, passing down her knowledge of sewing, knitting, baking and poetry to her family. She appreciated nature and always put others first, and her sense of humor was brilliant and unmatched.
She is the beloved mother of Sharon Canada and her husband, Steven of Cheshire; and Deborah Mathis and her husband, Joel of Clermont, FL. Shirley is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Steph Canada of St. Petersburg, FL and Steven Canada II of Cheshire; and her brother Raymond Kelsey and his wife, Pat of Hypoluxo, FL.
Funeral Services for Shirley will be held privately and at the convenience of her family.
