Shirley Anderson

SOUTHINGTON - Shirley M. Anderson, 98, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Southington Care Center. She was predeceased by her husband Kenneth E. Anderson who passed away in 1989.

Mrs. Anderson was born February 26, 1916. She was one of 13 children in Washburn, ME the daughter of the late George and Beulah (Shaw) Duncan. She was a member of New Life Christian Church for over 60 years. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and crocheting for her family and watching the Red Sox.

She is survived by her nine children Ruth Norman of Pompano Beach, FL, Ronald Norman of Waterbury, Robert Norman of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Judith Aubin of Port Richie, FL, Carol Jandrok of Naugatuck, David Anderson of Murrells Inlet, SC, Nancy Breen of Plantsville, Linda Salzer of Southington, James Anderson of Bristol; her brothers David Duncan of Plymouth, Clayton Duncan of FL, her sister Patricia Navickas of Vernon; 37 Grandchildren and Over 100 Great and Great-Great Grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday March 8, 2014 at 10 a.m. at New Life Christian Church, 289 Chestnut Hill Ave, Waterbury. Burial will follow in Bucks Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday morning from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Southington Care Center, 45 Meriden Ave, Southington, CT 06489. The Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury 9 Holmes Ave. is assisting with arrangements.
