Sheila McReavy

Cheshire – Sheila Tardiff McReavy, 79 of Cheshire, was reunited with her loving husband in Heaven on August 21, 2021 at 10:20 AM after an eight-year battle with cancer. She was the beloved widow of Ronald McReavy who passed away on January 5, 2021.

Sheila was born February 3, 1942, in Bangor, Maine, the daughter of the late William David Tardiff and Eileen Welch Tardiff. She retired from a food service company where she worked for 28 years.

She was a graduate of Brewer High School, and achieved an Associate’s degree in accounting from Mattatuck College. Sheila was a member of the St. Bridget of Sweden Parish in Cheshire, CT.

She is survived by her children; Kelly McReavy, of Southington, CT, and Katheen McReavy (Scott) Kassouf, of Milford, CT; and her four grandchildren, Matthew Washburn, of Barre, VT, Rebecca Washburn, of Southington, CT, Sean Kassouf, of Delmar, MD, and Justin Kassouf of Plainfield, CT. She also leaves behind her brother-in-law Clifford (Joan) McReavy of Mechanicsville, NY; her sisters-in-laws Carolyn Tardiff and Jean Tardiff; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Carolyn Tremble and their brothers, James, David, and Charles Tardiff.

She was a member of the Women’s Society of St. Bridget Church, the Women’s Club of Cheshire and she loved playing bridge with her dear friends.

Calling hours for Mrs. McReavy will be held 5 to 7 P.M, Friday, August 27, 2021 at The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St, 06410. Sheila’s funeral will start at 9:15 A.M, Saturday, August 28, 2021 from the funeral home and proceed to St. Bridget Church, 175 Main St, Cheshire, 06410 for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 A.M. Masks and social distancing are required. Burial will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cheshire Community Food Pantry, 175 Sandbank Road, Cheshire, CT 06410.
