He cherished his grandchildren and never missed a sporting event or activity.

Ted is survived by his daughter, Mary Simons and her husband Theron, of Naugatuck; his granddaughter, Michelle Boyle and her husband Owen, his grandson Jacob Simons and his wife Elizabeth and his great grandsons Henry, Theo and Callum. In addition to his parents, Ted was predeceased by his sister, Mary Plescia and his son, Michael.

The Simons family wishes to thank the staff at Beacon Brook Health Center and AccentCare Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.

A private graveside service with full military honors will be held at St. James Cemetery at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours and arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck.
