Prospect, CT Dolores Schieffer, 72, wife of John L. Schieffer, Jr., died peacefully March 11, 2020 at her home.
Dolores was born May 13, 1947 in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late John and Laura (Newell) Zdanowicz and lived in Prospect for the past 47 years. She graduated from Crosby High School in Waterbury and attended earlier grades in Maine and Connecticut. In addition to her parents, Dolores was predeceased by her brother, Ronald Zdanowicz.
Dolores was a beloved mother and grandmother. In addition to her husband John, she leaves behind her daughter, Laura (Schieffer) Buonaiuto and husband, Matt, of York, ME; and her son, John L. Schieffer III and wife, Lorraine, of Goodyear, AZ. She will be greatly missed by her granddaughters, Zoey and Megan Buonaiuto, Samaira Schieffer, and her step-granddaughter, Abigail Buonaiuto.
Dolores was an avid reader, baker, and artist. She loved traveling with her family and playing the slots. She will be remembered by many as a kind, warm, generous soul.
