Sarah Sloman

Sarah Sloman, age 102, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2015 at Pomperaug Wood in Southbury. She was the devoted wife of 48 years of the late Harry Sloman. Sarah was born on December 25, 1912 in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late Benjamin and Jenny (Herman) Cross.

Sarah worked as a secretary in New York City until her retirement in 1978. She was a voracious reader and a dedicated supporter of a childcare charitable organization in Brooklyn, NY.

She is the beloved mother of Joel Sloman of Medford, MA; and is also survived by her sister-in-law; Belle Cross of Southbury; and her cherished nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Judith Sloman and her brother, Isidore Cross.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 2PM in Beth El Cemetery, Boyden Street, Waterbury. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Waterbury has been entrusted with her arrangements.
