WALLINGFORD- Sandra Phyllis Leventhal, 82, passed away, Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Yale New Haven Hospital.
Ms. Leventhal was born August 11, 1936 in West Haven daughter of the late Edward and Mildred Casman. She was a Registered Nurse at the Hospital of St. Raphael’s where she eventually became the Head RN at St. Raphael’s Hospital and later went on to obtain a Master’s Degree in Chemistry which she used to continue her passion for helping others that were battling with narcotic substance abuse issues in her role as an Assistant Director for a New Haven based Methadone clinic until she retired in 1988.
Sandra is survived by her son Scott and his wife Carrie Leventhal of Cheshire; her twin sister Edythe Rheingold of Poughkeepsie, NY; and her grandchildren Joshua, Sarah, and Brenden Leventhal. She was predeceased by her sister Joanne Eisenberg.
Arrangements- Calling hours for Ms. Leventhal will be held 4 to 6 P.M, Thursday, October 18, 2018 at The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St, 06410. Words of remembrance will be shared at 6 P.M to conclude the calling hours. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
