NAUGATUCK- Mrs. Sandra (Ashman) Kalinowski, 72, of Naugatuck, passed away Monday evening Aug. 5, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital. She was the wife of Ronald J. Malinowski, Sr.
Sandy was born in Bridgeport, Dec. 13, 1940, a daughter of the late George H. and Doris D. (Pendlow) Ashman and was a life-long resident of Naugatuck. She was educated in the local school system and was a graduate of Naugatuck High School. She was employed in the Anesthesia Dept. at St. Mary's Hospital for over 38 years, retiring in 2001. She was a member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church and enjoyed Traveling with her husband, especially to their summer home in New Hampshire and the luncheon's they shared. She also enjoyed traveling to the casinos, shopping at the outlets and entertaining in her home. She loved her dogs; Geno, Molly, and Chance.
The family would like to thank her private physician, Dr. John Testa and the staff at St. Mary's Hospital CCU for the compassion and care provided to Sandy and her family during her illness.
Besides her husband of 43 years, she leaves her son, Ronald J. Kalinowski, Jr. and his wife Marie of Abington, Mass. and a daughter, April Kalinowski Nealley and her husband Ryan of Naugatuck. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother Georg and her twin sister, Sharon.
A private funeral service will be held on Saturday at the Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
