Naugatuck, CT Francis R. SanAngelo, 84, husband of Judith (Nardello) SanAngelo died September 3, 2022 at Waterbury Hospital.
Fran was born August 16, 1938 in Waterbury, CT son of the late Michael and Agnes (Reiner) SanAngelo. He was a lifelong Naugatuck resident and a graduate of Naugatuck High School. Fran attended Post College and he proudly served his country for 4 years in the United States Navy.
Fran retired from the chemical division of Uniroyal, Inc. after 40 years of service and after retiring he enjoyed working at the Hop Brook Golf Course. Fran loved golfing and he enjoyed coaching girls softball and boys little league in Beacon Falls and he also coached Naugatuck Babe Ruth baseball and Prospect Pop Warner football.
In addition to Judy, his wife of 57 years, Fran is survived by his daughter, Tracey Brancati (Sal) of New Haven, CT; his son, Sonny SanAngelo (Lisa) and his granddaughters, Alyssa SanAngelo and Lexi SanAngelo all of Cheshire, CT and his grand dogs, Sam, Andy and Hogan.
All services will be private and there are no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. In lieu of flowers and to honor Fran’s memory, donations are requested to either Northern Bound Rescue at www.northernboundrescue.com or to Companion Pet Rescue at www.cprdogs.com.
