SAMUEL M. ANNENBERG
Beloved husband, father and grandfather
BOCA RATON – Mr. Samuel M. Annenberg, 92, formerly of Waterbury, passed away peacefully at Menorah House Rehabilitation Hospital, Boca Raton, FL. on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018. He was the loving husband of Roberta(Hering)
Annenberg.
Samuel was born in Waterbury on July 30, 1925, son of the late Maurice and Nettie (Lehner) Annenberg. He was a graduate of Crosby High School Class of 1943. He worked as cigar Salesman for over 30 years at Consolidated Cigar Company. He retired to Boca Raton, Florida with is wife Roberta in 1991.
Samuel was long time congregant of the Beth El Synagogue and former Past President of the Synagogue. People that knew him often remarked that was a true people person. He was an avid sports fan, including his beloved UCONN Huskies men and women basketball team. His true love was the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and watching them grow to be strong individuals.
Besides the love of his life, his wife, Roberta, of 56 years, he leaves his sons, Michael Annenberg and his wife, Kathy, of Cheshire, Ross Annenberg and his wife, Lynne, of Hopkinton, MA; and; four grandchildren, Matthew, Nicole, Alyssa and Julia; his brother-in-law, Burton Hering and his wife, Toshiko. He was predeceased by his Sister, Thelma Berwhisht.
Arrangements – Funeral services will be held on Thursday February 15, 2018 at 10 am at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St. Burial will follow in Hebrew Benefit Cemetery.
