George Salenik
Naugatuck, CT George Salenik, 95, husband of the late Ann (Panulyn) Salenik, passed away peacefully at Waterbury Hospital on Wednesday, December 24, 2014.
George was born on April 1, 1919 in Coplay, PA and had lived in Naugatuck for most of his life. George was a retired employee of the footwear division of Uniroyal, Inc. and was a United States Navy World War II veteran.
George is survived by his daughter Beth Salenik-Raccuia and her husband Ben, his grandson Steven, and his nieces Margie and Irene and their families. In addition to his wife, George was predeceased by his infant son George; and his daughter Patricia, who died in 1974.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, December 29, 2014 at 11:00am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church Street, Naugatuck. Burial with military honors will follow in St. James Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30am.
