WATERBURY- Ruth Young, 90, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Apple Rehab in Watertown.
She was born November 28, 1924 in Waterbury daughter of the late Benjamin and Minnie (Madnick) Young.
Ruth was a graduate of Driggs Grammar School, and Wilby High School. She was an employee for Torrington Supply Company prior to her retirement.
Ruth was a member of Beth El and B’Nai Shalom Synagogues. She belonged to the B’Nai B’rith and Hadassah, and also was the Past President of Max Trauig Leisure Group of the Jewish Federation.
She is survived by her daughter Janet Phillips of Waterbury; a brother Joseph Young of Meriden; two grandchildren Carrie and Scott; a great granddaughter Tori; several nieces and nephews; as well as several great nieces and nephews. Ruth was predeceased by her brother Charles Young.
Arrangements- A funeral for Ruth will be held 1:30 P.M, Friday, February 13, 2015 at The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave, 06710. Burial will follow in Hebrew Benefit Cemetery, Stillson Road, Waterbury.
