Ruth Tedesco

WATERBURY; Mrs. Ruth F. (Darling) Tedesco, 73 of Waterbury passed away on Friday April 29, 2011 in the VITAS Hospice Unit at Saint Mary's Hospital.

Ruth was born July 16, 1937 in Waterbury a daughter of the late Raymond Francis and Caroline (Schlosser) Darling and was a lifelong Waterbury resident. She was a graduate of Saint Francis Xavier Grammar School as well as Wilby High School. She was a career counselor at Wilby High School for many years. She was an avid golfer and ballroom dancer having taught ballroom dancing for the Arthur Murray Dance Studios. Ruth was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks # 265 of Waterbury and a Communicant of Saint Francis Xavier Church.

Ruth's family would like to thank Toni O'Connell and the team of the VITAS Hospice Unit for their care and support.

She leaves her Aunt Mae Connors of Blue Springs, MO, her nephew Dennis Goggin and his wife Chris of Wolcott and several cousins. She was predeceased by her sister Carole Nelson and her niece Wendy Nelson.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Ruth will be held Saturday May 14, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Francis Xavier Church 625 Baldwin Street. Burial will be held at the convenience of her family. There are no calling hours. If desired memorial contributions may be made to VITAS Innovative Hospice Care 1579 Straits Turnpike Middlebury, CT 06762. The Mulville Funeral Home 270 West Main Street has care of arrangements.
